The Physicians for Human Rights/USA released a report today detailing Iraqi abuses of Kuwait’s medical system: Hospitals were invaded by military personnel and Iraqi troops were billeted in hospital wards and other medical facilities.
Iraqi war wounded have replaced civilian patients in many facilities.
Hospitals and health centers have been stripped of medicines and equipment, forcing many to close.
Health workers and hospital volunteers have been arrested, tortured, allegedly raped and, in some cases, executed.
Kuwaitis have been barred from hospital services.
