Heilman, Pro and Con

I was appalled to read about the efforts to recall West Hollywood Mayor John Heilman (Times, Feb. 3).
When I lived in West Hollywood, I served on the city’s Affordable Housing Task Force as an appointee of John Heilman, and later served on the Rent Stabilization Commission. In all my experiences with the West Hollywood City Government during that time, I found Heilman to be the most devoted, honest and sincere member of the City Council. His efforts to involve all citizens in government have been remarkable.
It disturbs me to see petty politics and self-serving interests turn on the people who have served the city so well for so long.
