‘American Dream’ Is Ecological Nightmare

We are all paying the price for Lee and Julie Cook’s “American Dream” (Jan. 31), the high price of environmental degradation.

A 200-mile commute (to work) does not constitute front-page heroics. A 1,000-miles-per-week drive is immoral in this day and age.

Envision their “four hours of quality time” rolling along and polluting. Ironic that this then forces them to eat in fast-food restaurants, furthering an environmental and societal decline.
