Hazing

Your editorial “Officers of the Law Should Know Better” (Feb. 1) is quite correct. It omits only one point. Hazing, wherever it may occur, is a reflection of an adolescent mentality. It is right that adolescents should not be permitted to carry a gun and placed in a position of authority over citizens. When police officers show a tendency towards such adolescent behavior, they must be removed from the force until it is proven that they have grown up.
