Apprentice jockey Vann Belvoir was in stable condition after suffering a skull fracture and a broken leg when his horse tried to jump a rail at Golden Gate Fields. He was aboard I’m Crafty and holding a three-length lead when the horse suddenly drifted sharply to the left and struck the rail.
