The Encino chapter of Hadassah will hold its 24th annual Youth Aliyah Luncheon at Temple Valley Beth Shalom, 15739 Ventura Blvd., Encino. The luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 19. The guest speaker will be Marian Wail, area vice president of the Southern Pacific Coast Region of Hadassah. Tickets are available at $50 for members and $25 for guests. The Wellness Community is holding an “Open the Doors” campaign to raise money for its new Valley/Ventura facility, which will serve the Conejo Valley and western San Fernando Valley area. The Valley-Ventura facility is scheduled to open May 1. The Wellness Community’s mission is to help cancer patients through free programs that offer psychological, social and emotional support. Love is Feeding Everyone (LIFE) will hold its fourth “Bowl-for-LIFE” bowl-a-thon from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 23. Bowlers will seek sponsors who can pledge dollar amounts based on bowling scores to help feed hungry people in Los Angeles. Celebrity chairwoman of the event will be Kate Linder of “The Young and the Restless.” Other celebrities will also participate. The bowl-a-thon will be held at the Sports Center Bowl, 12655 Ventura Blvd., Studio City. Those attending are asked to bring non-perishable food items to donate.
