U.S. troops are SCRAMBLING TO BUY CARDS to mail for Valentine’s Day--Thursday. Officials at a PX store in Saudi Arabia said 600,000 cards had been ordered for troops in the Gulf, and customers were rushing to buy them, even though cards mailed now will ARRIVE WEEKS LATE. “I have wondered if this will be the last Valentine I ever get to send him,” said Army Sgt. Simone Sampson, 24, as she flipped through cards to find one for her fiance, a Marine combat engineer at sea in the Persian Gulf. “It’s tough.”
