Eastern-United Deal Opposed: The Justice Department said it was prepared to file an antitrust suit to block grounded Eastern Airlines from selling landing and takeoff slots at Washington National Airport to United Airlines. The acquisition by United of 67 landing and takeoff slots and five gates at National would lessen competition, particularly for flights between the nation’s capital and several northeastern cities, government lawyers said.
