SOUTH KOREA: Business leaders plan to hold two seminars in the United States this year in an effort to offset growing trade friction. The Federation of Korean Industries expects the United States to step up pressure to gain access to South Korean markets in the wake of delays in the Uruguay Round of multilateral trade negotiations, the Korea Trade Promotion Corp. says. Meanwhile, a federation survey showed that the economy is heading toward recession as the Gulf War chokes off overseas demand for such major South Korean export products as electronics, automobiles and textiles.
