Louis Weil III Resigns From Time Magazine

Louis A. (Chip) Weil III has resigned as U.S. publisher of Time magazine and will leave the publishing firm to pursue other interests, Time Inc. Magazine Co., New York, said Friday.

Robert L. Miller, 41, will assume Weil’s responsibilities in addition to his current duties as Time’s executive vice president, group president and worldwide publisher of Time, the company said. Miller served as worldwide and U.S. publisher of Time before Weil’s joining the newsweekly in May, 1989. Before joining Time, Weil, 49, was publisher of the Detroit News.
