Cleveland’s Keith Hernandez, 37, limited to 43 games last season because of a calf injury, is out with lower back trouble.
Last year Hernandez hit .200 with one home run and eight RBIs. The Indians signed the five-time All-Star to a two-year contract worth $3.5 million before the start of last season.
