TYPES OF PROJECTILES
High explosive: Standard shell, with delayed, impact or proximity fuse; spreads shrapnel.
Smoke: Can lay down smoke to obscure battle area for up to 20 minutes.
Illumination shell: Expels flare attached to a parachute that floats over the battle area for up to 10 minutes.
White phosphorous: Spreads particles that continue to burn hours after penetrating soldier’s body.
Chemical: Loaded with one or more poison gases.
HEAT: High explosive antitank shell, penetrates armor.
Beehive: Shotgun type with thousands of darts for anti-personnel fire.
