In Beijing, CHINESE Premier Li Peng and PAKISTANI Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said they were gratified by news that Iraqi troops were leaving Kuwait, China’s official New China News Agency said. “China hopes the legitimate Kuwaiti government will resume its sovereignty over its country at an early date,” Li said. Sharif, on a four-day visit to Beijing, also said, “Pakistan regrets the damage and bloodshed the Iraqi people have suffered as a result of the war.”
