NCR Board Expansion Seen as Block to AT&T;: A move by NCR Corp. to expand its board appears aimed at weakening any voice AT&T; would have in the computer company’s operations and thwarting an effort by the phone company to remove NCR Chairman Charles Exley Jr., analysts said. NCR spokesman Mark Feighery said the 13-member board amended NCR’s corporate bylaws last week to allow it to expand to as many as 20 members. In December, American Telephone & Telegraph Co. launched a $6.1-billion hostile takeover bid for the Dayton-based computer maker.
