But news of the Mideast cease-fire obviously raised spirits around the Jurnett household. Three of her sons are in the Army, one is in the Army reserve, and one is in the Navy. Her sons joined the military largely to seek better lives than their rural home offered, but they also discovered a sense of pride in serving their country, Jurnett said. “And I’m proud of them.”
