FULLERTON : Pedestrian Zone Approved for Fair

Share

In anticipation of large crowds attending “A Night in Fullerton,” the City Council has approved a pedestrian zone that will close down parts of a major thoroughfare in the city for the April 26 event.

Expecting more than 30,000 people to attend the daylong fair, the council voted last week to close Harbor Boulevard between Commonwealth and Chapman avenues. Streets west of Pomona Avenue and east of Malden Avenue will remain open for parking only. Bus routes will be realigned for the closure.

The city also plans to place traffic and parking personnel in key areas for direction and help. In its 27th year, “A Night in Fullerton” has become a major attraction in Southern California. The all-day event celebrates the city’s cultural and fine arts offerings. While related events take place throughout the city, a large concentration of activity occurs in the downtown area.
