Home Buyers Can Get Loan Advice at Two Times Fairs

Share

With interest rates their lowest in years, qualifying for a mortgage is much easier for many Southland home buyers. But borrowing can still be a complex and intimidating experience.

At the Los Angeles Times Home Buyers and Sellers Fairs, consumers can find out how their credit stacks up, whether they qualify for a loan and what new mortgage programs are available from commercial lenders and government programs.

The fairs are scheduled for Saturday, April 20, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Orange County and May 4 at the Shrine Exhibition Hall in Los Angeles; hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Lenders exhibiting at the fair will provide free credit reports and will pre-qualify home buyers for loans. Other financial institutions will be on hand to provide information on how much prospective home buyers can afford to buy and how much of a down payment is required.

There will also be a special panel on first-time buyer home loans that will be presented by the Federal National Mortgage Assn. (FNMA). See ad on K13.
