SOUTH KOREA: South Korean officials appear confident that their country will win a large share of post-war rehabilitation projects in Kuwait. “The Kuwaitis said we had a better chance of winning contracts than other Asian countries because of our support” during the Gulf War, a senior Foreign Ministry official said. South Korea sent more than 300 military medical and air force transport personnel and contributed $500 million to help U.S-led allied forces evict Iraq from Kuwait.
