5 Slain at Pro-Democracy March in Mali’s Capital

BAMAKO, Mali —
Security forces shot dead at least five pro-democracy demonstrators Saturday, bringing the death toll in two days of anti-government rioting in Mali to 30, hospital sources said.
Police and troops in Bamako, capital of the impoverished West African nation, opened fire on thousands of women protesters.
