Gas Prices Take 1st Rise Since October: An oil industry analyst said prices at the nation’s gas pumps crept up slightly over the past two weeks, registering the first increase since mid-October. The Lundberg Survey of 13,000 stations nationwide found the average price of all three grades of gasoline on March 22 was 117.16 cents a gallon, still lower than before the invasion of Kuwait in August but a quarter-cent higher than the March 8 survey. Trilby Lundberg said the increase reflects a traditional rise in wholesale prices as the spring and summer driving seasons approach.
