2 Qualifying Tests Offered for Prospective Lifeguards

Two lifeguard tests for those who want to work at Los Angeles city pools this summer will be offered in April. The first test is scheduled for Saturday at the Los Angeles Swim Stadium, 3980 S. Menlo Ave. The second test is set for April 27 at Roosevelt Pool, 456 S. Mathews St.

Those who pass the exam will have the opportunity to work as lifeguards at one of the 52 city pools operated by the city Recreation and Parks Department.

The department is conducting ongoing lifeguard training classes for those who want to brush up on life-saving techniques and swimming before the test.

The sessions are at various pools around the city. Participants will receive Red Cross certificates upon completion of the course.
