Suspected Shining Path guerrillas fired a rocket at a structure housing the Israeli, British and Colombian embassies, exploded bombs outside the Japanese and Italian embassies, and attacked about 20 banks with dynamite, police said. The well-coordinated attacks late Friday caused some damage but no injuries. In addition, police said the guerrillas sabotaged electrical towers, blacking out Lima and much of Peru’s coast, and affecting about 10 million people.
