Affirmative Action

Share

In response to William Raspberry’s “Race-Based Advantage Is a Detour” (Commentary, March 17):

Please, Mr. Raspberry, wake up. To be judged by the content of our character was a “dream”! Until the “dream” comes true, we will continue to be limited by our race, the same as some ethnic groups are hindered by their religion or nationality. If the “dream” comes true, we may be judged by the content of our character, but only within the context of the color of our skin.

In the meantime, we reluctantly accept affirmative action as one way to enforce a semblance of our being judged by the content of our character.
