Man Survives Flood by Hanging in Trees After Car Is Lost
Associated Press
GARLAND, Tex. —
A man whose car was swept from a temporary bridge during flash-flooding was found alive early Friday after he spent the night hanging in trees, police said.
The man had been feared drowned after officers failed to rescue him Thursday night, when traffic accidents blamed on thunderstorms killed at least five people in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Roaring creek water trapped Stan Kudwa, 31, of Garland when he tried to drive across a bridge erected during road construction in the Dallas suburb, police said.
