1988 Trapiche Malbec, Oak Cask Reserve ($8) --Evidence that other areas of the New World are making good wine comes from this wine made in Argentina. A rich, complex red wine, it is made from the Malbec grape which is used in Bordeaux as just a blending grape. The grape does not normally have a great deal of aroma, but here the aroma is delicately herbal-cherry, and the depth of fruit in the mouth is fairly rich. Trapiche Cabernet ($8) is also an attractive wine.
