LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Share

I get dozens of letters to the editor each week from readers who have opinions about Ventura County issues. I read all of the letters, and we publish many of them on Page B3.

Most letter writers depend on the U.S. Postal Service to deliver their missives. A few send their thoughts through on a fax machine. And still others take the time to drive their letters by our office.

Now we are going to make it even easier for readers to give us their views on local issues. Starting today, we are accepting “Telephonic Letters to the Editor.”

The direct line in Ventura is 658-5546. Or dial toll-free on 1-800-LA TIMES, Ext. 8-658-5546.

Callers will have one minute to convey their thoughts, and we will transcribe those comments daily. We won’t be able to use all the letters, but we will use as many as we can each week. Like traditional written letters, the telephonic letters that are published may be condensed.

Give us a call.
