PRAGUE : On European Security

The Cold War may be over, but Eastern European leaders claim that there has been little easing of the threat to peace and stability in Europe. Economic devastation has replaced dictatorship in the former Soviet Bloc, spawning unrest and rekindling old conflicts.

Those are among key issues on the agenda for a two-day security conference in Prague starting Thursday. It will bring together more than 100 military, economic and political experts from Europe and North America.
