Patriots Not Afraid to Speak Their Minds

I was very moved by your article about the Kobayashis ("In U.S., Patriots Speak Out," Dianne Klein column, April 14). Thank you for presenting their story and for articulating your own view of the current war fever which I happen to share. It is very disconcerting to see how wars become such litmus tests for measuring patriotism. Indeed, I certainly believe our country needs to grow up and recognize the futility of war. I am at least hopeful that change may occur when I read an article such as yours: You are not afraid to challenge, to speak out. You are the kind of patriot I would like to become.
