The article mentioned Sally Kirkland in TNT’s “Heatwave” but failed to mention Cicely Tyson, the Oscar-nominated actress, two-time Emmy winner and ACE Award winner for her portrayal of Ma Dear in “Heatwave,” a role Ms. Tyson will re-create in a planned sequel.

In an era where the media have finally begun to tear down racial walls, The Times is remiss for publishing an article about actresses over 40 and including only women who are white.
