They Love a Man Out of Uniform--Nudist Colony Invites U.S. Troops
Having conquered naked aggression in Iraq, U.S. troops are in line for a little naked appreciation.
The Eastern Sunbathers Assn. will sponsor a tribute to American fighting men and women at the Timberline Lodge nudist colony on Memorial Day weekend.
“We are as sincere about this as any other business or organization,” said Bea Terry, co-owner of Timberline Lodge, about 100 miles east of Nashville. “I got as teary-eyed as anyone when Stormin’ Norman (Schwarzkopf) came home Sunday.”
Military officials reacted good-naturedly when asked about the invitation. “I wouldn’t encourage them to wear their uniforms . . . or take them off,” said Cmdr. Jud Smith, head of the Naval and Marine Corps Reserve Center in Knoxville.
