NO BIG LOSS: Locals always said closure of the Tustin Marine Corps Air Station wouldn’t hurt their economy much. . . . Now a Pentagon report concurs, estimating that the base closing would reduce area employment “less than one-tenth of 1%.” But jobs will increase slightly near Twentynine Palms when the choppers and 4,100 military and civilian personnel move to the Marine base there.
