Price to Coach Olympic Festival Team

John Price, coach of the Cal State Northridge men’s volleyball team, has been selected to guide the East squad in this summer’s Olympic Festival in Los Angeles.

It will mark the first national coaching experience for Price, who this spring led Northridge to its first 20-win season. The Matadors finished 22-7 and were ranked third in the final national poll.

“It’s something new for me,” Price said. “I hesitated at first. I had a lot of plans this summer, none of which centered around volleyball. But it’s a great opportunity and a chance to work with the national team coaches and top college players.”

Price said that 10 Northridge players have requested registration forms to attend tryouts: Neil Coffman, Raphael Tulino, Coley Kyman, Gary Reznick, Matt Unger, Sherdrick Bonner, Ken Lynch, Terry Schrumpf, Mike Mesnik and Chris McGee.
