Hey there, you with the stars in your I’s. When Pat Peterson came to L.A., she figured she would find a lot of folks with “great upper-zone stuff.” No, she’s not an implant surgeon; she’s a graphologist-- upper zone refers to the tops of tall letters, like Hs and Ts. She was in town last month with Mont Blanc’s Great American Novel tour. As people lined up to add their sentence to the ever-increasing tome, Peterson analyzed the handwriting of curious participants, telling them what their Ts or E’s revealed about themselves. What did she learn about Angelenos?

“Well, I have to tell you, I have never seen so many stars before,” she says. At the event? “No, in the letters. A lot of people consciously draw stars in their writing, like over their I’s. It indicates ambition, a desire to make it big. But in Los Angeles, there were more subconscious stars, like in capital Fs and A’s, than I have ever seen before. And it was all subliminal.”

But not at all surprising.
