43,000 People Take Part in Project Bread in Boston

BOSTON —
About 43,000 people walked a 20-mile route through Boston and three neighboring communities Sunday to support Massachusetts’ soup kitchens and food shelters in the world’s largest annual one-day walking event.
The walkers raised about $3.5 million for Project Bread, which will distribute the funds to 340 soup kitchens, food pantries and shelter feeding programs throughout the state, organizers said.
