California : IN BRIEF : CALEXICO : Agents Seize 238 Pounds of Cocaine
U.S. Customs agents seized 238 pounds of cocaine valued at $11.5 million. The drug was found in a secret compartment of a vehicle crossing the international border. The driver, Ancelmo Madueno Rodriguez, 25, a resident alien living in National City, was arrested for investigation of cocaine smuggling, Customs Commissioner Quintin Villanueva said. Rodriguez was stopped Sunday at the Calexico Port of Entry by a checkpoint inspector who noticed him acting suspiciously, and a narcotics-sniffing dog alerted investigators.
