Kellogg E. Spear, 66; Ex-Commissioner
Kellogg Emerson Spear, a retired investment manager and former member of the El Pueblo de Los Angeles State Historical Monument Commission, has died while sailing in the South Pacific.
His wife, Emily, told the family that they had just arrived in the Isles de Marquesas when he suffered a fatal heart attack on Saturday. He was 66.
Besides his wife, the son of the owner of the old Pacific Wire & Rope Co. near downtown Los Angeles is survived by a daughter, Sharon, and two sons, Chandler and Alexander.
