AGAINST TAXES: UC Irvine demographers Kenneth Chew and Richard McClearly conclude that childless liberals are more likely than conservative parents to favor tax-supported schools. Their findings, based on the 1988 Orange County Annual Survey, are reported in the current issue of American Demographics magazine. . . . The authors say county parents would seem likely to back “investment in education,” yet “seem constitutionally opposed to increased taxation.”
