Woman Sues BMW for Selling Too Many Cars

CHICAGO —
A woman has filed a $10-million suit against German auto maker BMW for selling too many M5 sports cars in 1987 and 1988.
Lisa Stewart of suburban Glen Ellyn said the Schaumburg car dealer from whom she bought the sports model assured her it was a “limited edition” of 500 cars, but that she has since learned that 1,400 of the cars were sold in the United States. They carried a list price of $50,000.
