It was good to see “Surfer Slang” (Palm Latitudes, April 7), but half of the definitions were incorrect. Among the worst:
Bogus means uncool in any situation.
Brah does not mean a cool chick; it is simply bro with a Hawaiian accent.
Gut slider is an interesting term, though boogie boarders are more commonly called sponge heads or spongers.
Killer is anything very cool.
Quiver is an assortment of surfboards for different wave conditions.
Ahh. . . . Now I feel better!
