‘Angel Gabriel’ Convicted of Sexually Abusing Youths

RIVERHEAD, N.Y. —
A minister charged with sexually abusing four youths while pretending to be the angel Gabriel was convicted Saturday of statutory rape and other charges. The Rev. John J. Gargano, 67, was remanded to jail without bail by a Suffolk County judge. He faces at least 26 years in prison when sentenced on June 19.
