GFA to Resist Effort to Still ‘Heart Beat’: GFA Brands said it will refuse to obey the Food and Drug Administration’s request to change the name of its “Heart Beat” Canola cooking oil. Robert Harris, GFA president and chief executive, said the company will comply with the FDA’s request to drop the statement “No Cholesterol,” a picture of a heart and other wording on the label. As part of its recent campaign against misleading food labels, the FDA last week sent letters to cooking oil makers, ordering them to stop claiming that their products help prevent heart disease.
