Arab-Israeli Conflict

Share

Cockburn would have us believe that Arab aggression toward a Jewish state is a result of a hard-line attitude by Israel and that only U.S. pressure on Israel will result in peace.

Where was peace in 1948 through 1967 when the Arabs launched three major wars of aggression and countless acts of terrorism against Israel’s borders? The Arabs had control and sovereignty of what the so-called Palestinians demand today. Is it possible that the Arabs went to war when they controlled the eastern half of the Jewish homeland because they wanted to gain the western half also? Is it possible that so-called moderate Arabs will take what they can get now through negotiations as a means of getting the rest later through war?

The struggle for Israel versus the Arab world is one of life and death.

A U.S. resettlement program for the Palestinians would provide America with a population of people who are hard-working, industrious and family-oriented. Their vacated housing in Israel could be used for Russian and Ethiopian Jewish immigrants. The only lasting peace is peace for peace; anything less is a formula for the disappearance of the Jewish state.
