World IN BRIEF : NICARAGUA : Exhumation Asked of Ex-Contra Leader

Nicaragua will seek exhumation of the body of a former Contra rebel leader from a Miami grave to clear any doubts in Managua’s investigation of his murder, Nicaragua’s interior minister, Carlos Hurtado Cabrera, said. Enrique Bermudez, the former top military leader of the U.S.-backed anti-Sandinista rebels, was shot to death in the parking lot of Managua’s Inter-Continental Hotel on Feb. 16. His body was later flown to the United States for burial.
