Fairest of the Fair Pageant
Thirty-three young women from throughout the county will compete for the dual title of Fairest of the Fair/Miss San Diego County, at a pageant beginning at 7 p.m. Friday in Bing Crosby Hall at the Del Mar Fairgrounds. The winner will be the hostess of the Del Mar Fair, which opens June 18 for a 20-day run.
The 46th annual pageant will feature entertainment and musical numbers, dancing by the contestants, evening gown competition and unrehearsed interviews with the finalists. The evening culminates in the selection of the winner and her court.
Sportswear outfits will be judged in a separate competition at 7 p.m. today in Bing Crosby Hall. Admission is $1.
Tickets to Friday’s pageant are $5 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 get in free.
