MOORPARK : Meetings Planned on Gang Activity
City leaders in Moorpark will hold two meetings with local parents and community leaders to learn more about the area’s gang activity.
The meetings are scheduled for June 18 and July 16 and will include a translator for Spanish speakers.
The City Council formed a committee in February to study the issue and reported Wednesday that about 120 gang members are among the city’s 25,000 residents.
Council members also will consider employing a youth outreach coordinator to set up activities for area children and teen-agers.
