Philippe Casado of France edged countryman Didier Thueux in a final sprint to win the first stage of the Tour of Italy cycling race at Olbia, Sardinia.

Casado finished the 120-mile course in 4 hours 37 minutes 54 seconds.

Track and field’s world governing body has decided to name athletes who pass future doping tests as well as those who fail.
