Hewlett-Packard Cuts Prices: The Palo Alto computer company announced reductions on many products, including a 40% cut on its ScanJet Plus scanner. The scanner was dropped from $1,595 to $995. Prices of HP Vectra personal computers were cut as much as 10% and prices of mass storage products up to 33%. The company said the changes resulted from cheaper component prices.
