Gulf Marine Shot to Death During Robbery

HOUSTON —
A Marine just returned from nine months in the Persian Gulf was shot and killed early Friday in an apparent robbery as he walked home from a bar where he had celebrated his homecoming, police said.
Lance Cpl. Tarron Deandrea Dixon, 25, was found fatally shot and robbed of some jewelry and a wallet at an intersection near his home, police spokeswoman Linda Ramsey said.
