Chilean Woman, 61, Expecting 65th Child

SANTIAGO, Chile —
A 61-year-old woman who is considered the world’s most prolific living mother is expecting her 65th child, a government official said.
There is doubt about Leontina Espinoza’s actual number of children, but the Guinness Book of World Records said in 1981 that she had 55 registered births. By 1988, four more births had been documented.
The largest recorded number of children born to one mother, a Russian peasant, is 69, according to Guinness.
