Nation IN BRIEF : FLORIDA : Lists Submitted for Smith Case Gag Rule
William Kennedy Smith’s lawyers and Florida prosecutors submitted lists of which people should be included in a gag order that would limit access to information in the high-profile rape case, but their proposals will remain secret for now, a clerk at the Palm Beach County Court said. News organizations will have an opportunity to object to any gag order at a hearing scheduled for Friday. The judge has said she will issue a gag order to prevent publicity from tainting the potential jury pool. Trial is scheduled for Aug. 5.
